The kit looks like a different class from the one that was sunk. I wonder if there has been some confusion at the manufacturer over the naming of the kit?

There have been four ships bearing the name "Moskva" in the Russian Navy:
A Ship of the Line - 1799 to 1830
A Destroyer - 1932 to 1941
A Helicopter Carrier - 1965 to 1996
A Guided Missile Cruiser - 1995 to 2022. Originally named "Slava" it was renamed when the HC was taken out of service..

The model looks to be the Helicopter Carrier of the 1960's - same as the old Airfix kit. So the dio would, unfortunately, be inappropriate.

It's on the wish list, but so is the Zvezda 1/48 and so it's a case of what opportunity arrives first.

I wouldn't say totally different from watercolour ,but AK say the wax pigment is the latest and greatest technology. The way they can be blended and non destructively erased is supposed to be superior.

Not adverse to building a boat now I've had a go at Pe railings, whilst a bit fiddly they are do able. It's only the rigging that really is a bit of a nuisance to try now.

Agree, I could really go for a smaller type modern warship in a big scale. I think a big ship in big scale would be too much for me. And as for rigging, I'd be hiding right behind you mate, the thought of doing a tall ship scares the **** out of me

Me too,it's always been on my list to build if given a chance. However that price is well over my wallet tolerance level, I was hoping someone would come out with a conversion for a Trumpeter kit.

Wow, that's an awesome top 10. I could properly drool over 1, 2 and 3. I really like the look of the special forces boat, especially as its crewed. What fantastic kits.

$319 for the helipad? That's incredibly expensive for what it is. Its basically a 1/35 Higgins Boat with a cabin and a pad on it. Still, its nice to window shop and think about murdering a relative to pay for it
