Just a fill in kit or one I'd started on Holidays

Post by digger303 »

Mg 42

Not the truly accurate kit and one I'd bought off Aliexpress because I was curious and it was cheap.
The Germans started using steel cartridge cases because of shortages which is why I painted it that colour . It's not correct so I may well probably go back and redo some of that.

I'm not unhappy about it so far.

I wonder if there are many other subjects out there in 1/6? Would make a great display.

If I remember correctly, Dragon had a whole line of 1/6 weapons kits. Some I recall were a bazooka, BREN Gun, STEN Mk2, Recoilless Rifle, Mortar, German Artillery rangefinder and telescope, anti-tank rifle, German WW2 Flamethrower. And I remember I saw a M2 50 cal with tripod, a 30 cal with tripod, a modern auto grenade launcher, rocket launcher, various assault rifles, etc.

I changed the ammo belt, because I didn't like it more than anything.
So this is just a quick pic to get keep the records straight.

Who knows, it may have been right originally. Now it looks like what someone would expect to see - which is just as good.

Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr - barrel change please :hand:
