Okay - what do you really want in plastic to build?

Post by JBOHMSS »

It may be cliched but what do you really want to see released in plastic so you can build it to your hearts delight?

I want

1/24 F4 Corsair
1/48 Halifax
1/48 Vulcan
1/48 Mk II Blenheim

I got the Whirlwind I have been wanting and the Sea Vixen!

The Westland Whirlwind has made my year so far, half way through it at the moment.

Looking forward to Trumpeter 1/48 DH Hornets (please don't tell me that I dreamt they were on the cards).

There is a kit for it in 1:35 but it is a resin kit and cost the same as 4 to 6 dragon kits
But a very cool and large beast

Oh, I don't want much... Just for Tamiya and Hasegawa to re-release some of their old 1/24 scale rally car kits. Now that technologies have evolved and people are designing decal sheets from a spare room in their house, there's probably more demand for rally car kits than ever before. Yet with the exception of Belkits and Aoshima who once in a blue moon release a new box, the major manufacturers who actually already have the moulds lying around, can't be asked to do anything with them. :wall: As if all car builders are interested in Ferrari's, American Hod-Rod's or Japanese style pimp-mobiles. Maybe I should follow Lee's example and start a "screw you Tamiya" tread... I wonder if it would help. Probably not...

Anyway... Nuff ranting. Time for another beer.

Some really interesting suggestions - I forgot the cars - I'd like the Aston Martin series in minimum 1/24 scale - I'd love a DB5 in 1/12 or bigger!

And the buccaneer - yes I'd be happy with a new industry standard version.

I'd like to see the C-5 Galaxy in just about any scale but properly designed. My father-in-law used to work on them so I want to make one for my wife.

I've done the B-17G my father flew in and am currently working on a C-124C Globemaster II that he also flew in. That kit by Roden is the only one I can find. Too bad it is mostly crap. Lots of flash, no guide holes or markings to aide with aligning or placement, confusing and misleading instructions. Let's see, did I leave anything out? Oh yes, it's mostly crap. But I do have make a go of it and do the best I can. It was a beautiful plane in its own way flying on those impossibly narrow wings and it's Micky Mouse nose for the radar.

As a car guy I would love to see some 50's and 60's drag car kits with updated moldings. What's out there now is mostly older (60's,70's vintage) and really show their age.And since we are dreaming, maybe some modern dirt oval subjects.
