1/32 Spitfire gun bays....anyone?

Post by JBOHMSS »

Gentle folk of ISM

I have the Tamiya MkVIII and MK IX spitfires in 1/32 - yet to build. But both are lacking gun bay detail in the wings - yes you will be saying don't be so lazy and scratch build the detail...well I would but time is always not on my side.

Is anyone aware of any detail sets that have been produced that one can drop in after a coat of paint?

Cheers

You know ... I dont think there is? I have the 1/32 Tamiya MK IX myself and as with most 1/32 kits I buy will look to see if there is anything worthwhile after-market for them, but never saw this? Strange too Tamiya being Tamiya never thought to detail this area but I guess it would have just added more expense to an already expensive kit?

I'm sure you are aware the cannon bulge panels are incorrectly shaped on the Tamiya kit though? but there is a good drop in replacement panel for that in resin.

Enjoy the kits though, sometimes pull mine out for a drool but keep putting it back again as I've far too much on the go at the moment.
