I think it depends on what you want to build. I'm not a bit fan of their 1:24 scale car kits, yet their truck models are far superior to anyone else. I wouldn't even consider another brand if I were to build a truck (unless it's a model that is not in their catalogue). Don't know anything about the quality their armour or aircraft kits though.

I've had some decent Italeri kits. Also had some pigs, ie. old kits boxed up as 'updated classics'. The updates don't justify them being on the shelf. You've been warned, lol!

It's a re-issue, so if you look around for reviews/builds of it online, you should be able to get a good idea of the quality of this particular kit. :cheers2:

I believe it's meant to represent a BMW but without the 'name' to avoid licensing fees. ;)

As far as I'm aware off, not using the logo in your product is not enough to circumvent licencing laws. Even though Takom is calling it a "German" car, it's clearly enough a BMW E21. That's all BMW needs to get this kit pulled from the shelves should Takom have produced this without a valid licence.

Also, the E21 was produced between 1975 and 1983 which makes me wonder about the 2005 bit. Could that not be Takom's product code for this kit instead?

You're correct, the 2005 is the kit number that Takom assigns to this kit. ;)

I just wish that they had spent a bit more time on the box art, IMO it looks like they've open a "paint" type package and 20 minutes later thought "that's good enough" :(

Surely that depends on how big the real plane is? I think 1/72 is a valid scale for aircraft.

Yup, just looking on my shelf, and most of the 1/72 modern jets are as big as a 1/48 WWII fighter. Let alone my 1/72 B-1, it's huge!

Wait till see the latest F86 boxart

On the flip side the new Swift and F6 Lightning area superb IMHO. Think they are using some other artists as well as Mr Tobin and the results are questionable.
