Revell vs. Tamiya Do 335 Pfeil

Post by TheNordus »

Hello, I am looking into ordering a Do 335 in 1/48th scale and was wondering whether to get the Revell or the Tamiya kit (w/ Kettenkrad).
I am kinda new to Aircraft modeling but not to modeling in general, and money's gonna be tight this month, but I really wanna build this plane.
The Revell kit would be a lot cheaper (and I presume the delivery would be faster, too) but I might fork out for the Tamiya one if it's clearly better in every way.
I would kind of want to use a miniature with this just to try a 1/48th scale one, and I'm only looking at building the single-seater version.

Agreed. If you can afford it the Tamiya kit is the way to go. AFAIK the Revell is the old Monogram kit. I've built that one a couple of times and it leaves a lot to be desired.

Yep - the Tamiya kit is great, have in stash and really looking forward to getting stuck into it (and just found out HK are making a 1/32 version...)

Looks like the majority is definitely on Tamiya's side on this - I placed an order for that right now. Thanks for the feedback!
