new NON ISM group build.

Post by UKscalemodeller »

I am planning on running a group build, August - December via my YouTube channel.

This is not in any way linked with ISM other than I have kindly been allowed to post about it here (I will of course post build threads for it here as ever)

Let me know if you are interested.

Interfesting idea! So many possibilities! :thumb2:  I suppose a diorama of, lets say, a tiger tank and a sherman about to blast each other counts...

Love the idea, if I can manage to get the figure and have the time, I'd be thinking Batman vs. Bane/Joker/Croc... which ever one I could get that looked decent.

I had planned is starting in may but that would have clashed with the ISM builds I wanted to do and Chancer and Radzy's seaplane build. Plus I'm hoping we will be moving house early this year.

Would be great to have figures in to mix up the usual aircraft and armour.

Hi Ian,

great subject for GB! If it's the QIII-QIV 2014 GB, I will be surely in! Ahh... another one added to the list... and so many subjects! So many kits ... :)

I have a Polar Lights Green Goblin that I picked up. All I gotta do it pick up a Spider Man, and I'm in.

Just to be clear, the start date is August 2014?

They entered production in (I think ) '44 and '42 respectively and both fought to the end of the war so yes, bring it on

YouTube, forum, blog, hell there is even some one on Facebook wanting to join in. As long as there is a build log of some kind from unstarted kits to finished article I don't mind what form it is in.

Am planning an ISM style reveal vid though.

I'm really interested in this group build, as it would give me the opportunity to do my 1st diorama. How about a P-38 and a Bf-109?

Sounds good to me, a P-38 was jointly responsible for the first Luftwaffe aircraft shot down by the USAAF and any 109F/G or K would fit perfectly.

Would be great to see a single vs twin adversaries.

I'd love to say yes but it would start to dilute the idea behind Group builds. Is there anything else that could fight the camel?

Thanks! Admittedly, I'm going to need to spend some time and get some help gathering the reference materials, but my idea is to do a diorama that somehow captures the earliest North African campaign encounters between the P-38 and the Bf-109, when the USAAF gained Allied air superiority in the Mediterranean.

Is that biting off too much for a maiden voyage into dioramas?

Quick question, is something like plane vs tank or figures vs tank in one diorama suitable? If yes, I'd love to do a Damaskus diorama with a Syrian army tank and some rebels.
