I have had this sitting on the SOD for a couple of years, I won it in a raffle and thought it would be a fun build. Nice kit, but I decided to add a bit more to it, mostly on the interior. The markings options in the kit were really not inspiring to me, so somewhere along the line I put it away. About a week ago I was cleaning out a bunch of kits to get rid of, and found it again. A quick search found me a set of Print Scale decals so I figured I would take a shot a finishing it up. This is where I left off......



The cockpit seemed to be lacking a bit compared to the rest of the kit, so I decided to add a bit to it with Evergreen strip.







And painted up









Typically, once the fuselage was closed up, alot of the detail cannot be seen, but still it was fun to do. The new decals should be here by the end of the week, so I hope to have it ready for paint soon after.

Very good scruffy, who needs photo etch? What markings are you getting mate? Or is it a surprise?

Very nice project of a great aircraft.

It's up to you mate, but I'm with Tim, would be nice to see a Beau in unusual markings.

This is an aircraft that I want to model in the near future...maybe a Tamiya 1/48....but, anyway....looking good so far, will follow this build closely

Added some jazz to the wheel bays to dress them up a bit; all made from Evergreen strip.



I also decided to improve the landing lights as they are such a prominent feature on the wing leading edge.



As molded in the kit; these were removed, the minor seams puttied and sanded and then a small pilot hole drilled for each light, and then enlarged with a round burr bit to make a nice pocket for the MV lenses that will be added.



Engines painted as well. I used a base of Citadel Chain Mail on the cylinders, then a wash of AK Engine Grime, and finally AK Metalic pigment on a "Q" Tip to bring out the detail on the cylinders. The gear cover was painted in Tamyia semi-gloss black, and dry brushed with Model Master gun metal metalizer to give them a nice metallic look. The mags were dry brushed with Model Master metalizer Titanium to give them a slightly different metallic look.



Coming along pretty well, also did some of the more mundane stuff as well; checking seams, canopies got a Future bath, and all the main parts added to the airframe that needed to be added before paint (with the exception of the canopies as they are still drying).

The engines look great. The little bits of silver on the cooling fins really bring it to life.
