Airfix 1/72 Bristol Blenheim

Post by eoinfinnegan »

Hi all, I finished this one yesterday while watching the football, its the new tooled kit and mostly its excellent but it did have fit issues and airfix just never seem to know where to ejector pins :x but they have finally got the panel lines right and I must say its the best looking Airfix kit iv ever built.

I used Revell 82 dark earth and Tamiya XF81 Dark Green, the black is Tamiya XF69 Nato Black. I gave it a pin wash with a dark mix of enamel paint thinned with low odor white spirit

Nice, is it a Mk.I? Might be one for the work bench, at it was our (Finland's) most important bomber for a large part of WWII.

Nice job again Eoin!! :th: Nice paint job! I simply love the Mk.1 in early RAF camo with black or black/white underside. I just got the same kit. Good to hear that it's an ok Airfix kit. If it hasn't got fit issues it's not Airfix. I was a bit worried that in this scale the canopy framing would look too heavy or thick but looking at your model it's not bad at all.

You got me inspired! :) I just decided that I'm going to do a Finnish Blenheim with the early war RAF camo (as they were when they arrived in Finland). :cheers2:
