My 9 Lancasters.

I love the Lanc (always have since being a nipper). And also my late Grandfather was aircrew on Lancs in WW2 and Post-War.

So here they all are together. All 9 Lancs in one photo call.







This is B.Mk.III (Special) ED865 from 617 Sqdn 5 Group RAF Bomber Command it flown by P/O Louis Burpee RCAF. He and his crew were killed over Gilze Rijen airbase in Holland during Operation Chastise. ED865 was built by A.V.Roe at Chadderton.



This is B.Mk.I (special) NG206 "Jane" of 9 Sqdn 5 Group RAF Bomber Command. She completed 31 ops. She was modified to carry the 12,000Ib High Capacity "Tallboy" bomb. NG206 was built by Armstrong-Whitworth at Baginton, and was scrapped in September 1945.



This is B.Mk.I PB150 of 625 Sqdn 1 Group RAF Bomber Command she is one of 35 "Ton-up" Lancs. PB150 was built by A.V.Roe at Chadderton. She was scrapped in May 1947.

This is W9464 "Johnny Walker" of 9 Sqdn 5 Group RAF Bomber Command. She completed over 106 ops. She was also modified to carry the 12,000Ib High Capacity "Tallboy" bomb. W9464 was built by Metropolitan-Vickers. She was SOC in November 1949. Parts of her can still be seen at the NAM at Newark.



This KB772 "Ropey" of 419 (Moose) Squadron RCAF. 6 Group RAF Bomber Command. She is a veteran of 66 ops. KB772 was built by Victory Aircraft in Canada. She was scrapped in Canada in May 1947.



This is B.Mk.III LM739 "Grogs the Shot" of 100 Sqdn, 1 Group RAF. She is depicted before the Berchtesgaden raid on April 25, 1945. LM739 was built by A.V. Roe at Yeadon. She was scrapped in October 1945.



This is B.Mk.III ED888 of 103 and 576 Sqdn 1 Group RAF. She is Bomber Command's record holder at a staggering 147 ops. ED888 was built by A.V.Roe at Chadderton. She was scrapped in January 1947.



This is B.Mk.I A66-1 ex ED930 "Queenie". ED930 was built by A.V.Roe at Chadderton. She was sent to Australia to be a pattern Aircraft for production in Australia.



This is B.Mk.VII NX739 previously of 617 Sqdn RAF. She is seen later while being used for Photo-Mapping survey work. She is still fitted with her enlarged bomb bay doors when in service with 617 Sqdn 5 Group RAF. She was also used as a camera ship for the 1954 movie "The Dambusters". NX739 was built by Austin Motors at Longbridge. She was sold for scrap in July 1957.

So Nice , The Lanc is one of my favourite Bombers, a lot to do now , but I will make one in future !

Great Colection , like the History on each aircraft , some versions I didn't knew ,

like a lot hte Shark teeth Bomber ,he's mean !!!
