Yeah, same here. I always try to get in between her and the stash when she comes down to the cave to talk to avoid her looking directly at it. She seems to have eidetic memory and I can't let her know exactly what I have in there. :D

I'm almost embarrassed to post these, but I've been collecting kits since I was young and this is easily 30+ years of modelling hopes and dreams. Sorry for the poor quality of the last two pictures, they were taken with my i-phone. So without further ado, here's the stash. Enjoy!

Nobody should be embarrassed by a stash that impressive.
We all love to see what other builders have, no matter how big, or how small.
It's actually helped my purchasing decisions knowing what others have been willing to part with their hard earned cash for.

Have been eyeballing this thread for a long time without wanting to add my own photos til I got all my deliveries. Now they are there and I want to share them with you guys! At first glance, the stash looks very modest. I sit in a closet while modelling so I dont have much space. Ive had to photograph all the kits in steps since I couldnt get a good shot of them in the closet!

As you probably are aware, you have to carefully organize the stash so it looks smaller than it really is. The missus can never know how many kits you really have in there!

The plans for some of the kits:
SR-71 = 2015 Double engine SiG or Eye Spy rec SiG
Sea Vixen FAW2 = 2015 In the Navy SiG

The plans for some of the kits:
F-16 = Desert rats GB
Zero = Rising sun GB

The plans for some of the kits:

Scud Launcher = 2014 6 wheels or more GB / 2015 Crazy Ivan GB

Plans for some of the kits:

Hind = 2015 Crazy Ivan GB

and also yes on some "guiltfree" time!

We are Kindred spirits; mine are a 11 and 13 and it changes with them getting older, not with time involved though. We give them much more time and attention than I ever got as a kid and it is super rewarding in the end, but you sacrifice.
They won't need me in a couple years as much and I will get more time for modelling and other hobbies, I hope

Spend some time during the weekend organizing part of my stash a bit better. I did get some more space, problem is it will most likely be filled with new kits pretty soon.

Image
Top shelf of one of closet.

Image
More stuff on the same shelf

Image
Bottom of the same closet, the stasis pod is build and has some other stuff in the box now.

Image
Cupboard above the fridge

This is what I have in the apartment, it looks like this in the attics.

Image
One of the green marked bags has unbuilt kits, one has built kits, the white box behind the bags looks like this

Image
There are four more layers of kits in the box. Under it is another box.

Image

Then there is one or to more boxes that I can't get to plus two boxes of left over parts. There is also some bigger models like the Millennium Falcon and a 1/8 scale Bentley lying somewhere among all the other crap in there.

Re: What's hiding in your stash ?

Post by cib2265 »

A bit of an update after I, ahem, went nuts recently!

My 1/32 stash - I'm also waiting on the 1/32 Tamiya Spit VIII, Corsair and Mustang to arrive, no idea how they fill it there, so I might have to start building some of these! :eeek:

My modern 1/48 stuff:

My WW2 single engine 1/48s: (the Panzer 38 (t) is actually two bagged Tamiya kits):

And these hidden away:

My armor stash - theres actually a 1/16 HB Tiger at the back of those - this is inside a TV entertainment unit:

My twin enginer 1/48 WW2 jobbies: I blame Paul for the HB 262s...(Ive ordered some replacement decals to be safe too)

And my Panther stash (and some interlopers):

Theres actually another night fighter Panther in the back plus the bagged kit is a Beheflswagen.

I also have some smaller kits around the traps, egg planes, figures etc - all up I've now cracked 100 kits again, with 9 or so in progress.

What have I done! :eeek:
