The Focke-Wulf Ta 152 was a World War II German high-altitude fighter-interceptor designed by Kurt Tank and produced by Focke-Wulf. The Ta 152 was a development of the Focke-Wulf Fw 190 aircraft. It was intended to be made in at least three versions—the Ta 152H Höhenjäger ("high-altitude fighter"), the Ta 152C designed for medium-altitude operations and ground-attack using a different engine and smaller wing, and the Ta 152E fighter-reconnaissance aircraft with the engine of the H model and the wing of the C model.

The first Ta 152H entered service with the Luftwaffe in January 1945. While total production—including prototypes and pre-production aircraft—has been incorrectly estimated in one source at approximately 220 units,[2] only some 43 production aircraft were ever delivered before the end of the European conflict.[1] These were too few to allow the Ta 152 to make a significant impact on the air war.

Small wing, pre-production aircraft, 1 prototype built[4][page needed] powered with 2,100-hp (1566 kW) Daimler Benz DB603LA engine. The extra length of this engine, as with the Jumo 213-powered Fw 190D-9, required a compensating rear fuselage plug and enlarged tail surfaces, and wing span was increased to 36 ft 1 in (11 meters).[2]

so i decide to make this kit basically because i am addicted to hobby boss kits! not because they are perfect ,because they are not, its because for me they are nice kits at the right price for me! also i just love the lufwaffe subjects of the second world war because of the way they are painted and because in my opinion they are very cool looking but not beautiful like a spit or a mossie... they are just unique!

so here is my first update for this kit
its been around three days since i started this kit and because it is the summer holiday for people who go to school in england i have made a lot of progress!

so i started with the cockpit as usual and stage one shows just how detailed this is!


here is is constructed with nice photo etch pedals but i have not added the harnesses yet because i want to paint them separate

they were very good but i do not like photo etch and i may some day but today i dont care for it that much

so next it was onto priming the cockpit in which i used the mig primer that was recommended to me by paul


i then moved on to the second step whilst it was drying and it appear to be part of the engine but you cannot see it when the halves are buttoned up

Hi James - I actually started mine last night, just to see how it goes - not bad at all (better than the Airfix Spitfire POS that I started and have shelved....had it with that brand)

I see you have the FAA Avenger and Hellcat - me too, one of each, plus I have 2 of their Me 262s which Im looking forward too as well.

How did you go with the engine assembly? The supercharger didnt want to fit that well on mine...

so here is update number 2:

i started by assembling and painting the wheel wells with rlm02, i also added a oil wash form the ak oil colours!




the undercarriage legs were then painted rlm02 and they had a small strip of silver




the propeller was painted black and then i added some chipping by using a sponge and silver paint

I found the guns got in the way of the two wing parts of fitting so i chopped them of using a blade






the undercarriage part things were fixed into place




after fry fitting though i found there was a lot of parts to be painted due to a massive hole into the fuselage


but i ran out of rlm 02
so i mixed it








the rear undercarriage was then made


its time to put the halves together!!!


this part was painted for the undercarriage area


its now put together!!


note some filling and sanding is needed and for this I used the squadren white putty


the wings were applied note there was no filler needed




the wings added to the fuselage!


rudder and stabilizers added no filler needed!

filler sanded down




more filler added to the usual places when wings are made like this


wing roots


a bit of a gap on the right side


so i filled using perfect plastic putty that you can wipe away using a cotton bud and water or spit




a tiny bit of mr surfacer was used in the top seem


rescribing started


and more sanding


checking for seems










so that is it for the update i hope you fellas are having good builds and having fun because i certainly am

cool! and yes airfix are starting to get on my nerves a bit with there fit (especially with the older kits) also there panel lines are huge!!!! i dont think they understand the concept of keeping them in scale

i have wanted to get one of there 262's for a while now!

if you mean with the avenger the super charger and all the internal pars fitted well for me, as many people say you can have 2 of the same kit and they can either be slightly different or just completely the opposite (one being very good and the other flash ridden)

i started off by cutting out and priming small parts that fit onto the belly of the aircraft






primed and the canopy painted rlm66

top painted rlm81 and rlm82














so thats it fellas i will add a video later and will probably klear cote and add decals tomorrow because tonight i am going to a barbie

The HB instructions are a bit hit and miss - they dont specify which interior bits to hit with RLM02, or that if you're not going to use the PE for the rear cockpit panel, then you have to thin the heck out of the plastic part...a few minor beefs...

Fit and finish is great - only had to put a small dob of Mr Surfacer onto the wing root seams and that was it!
