Academy 1/48 F-15E

Post by Gav0909 »

So having sat on the shelf for some time in various stages of build, then paint I finally got this beast finished.

Decals gave me no end of trouble. I used an AM set from Microscale as well for the main markings, but needed to use some of the kit stencils. Putting the decal onto a small spot of Klear seemed to work, but I didn't do this for all of them and so I have some silvering on some decals which has pissed me off. Well it was my first big jet so you live and learn. I can make sure in the future that I do some things different.

I am very pleased with the paint fading though.

Let me hear your thoughts.

Thanks :cheers2:

gorgeous work! I wonder if you used the microscale set and sol, as the same manufacturer, you would still get the silvering... hmmm kinda like using the Mr. Hobby decal solutions with Japanese decals...

in any case, still amazing work!
