After making the 2009 versions of the RAFBF I decided to carry on with the theme and make the 2012 version. This required just a little more thought as regards the paint scheme.

I am reasonably pleased with the results and stands out among the grey jets that are prevalent at the moment, and certainly adds a new dimension to flying the flag.

Amazing work. I just picked up this kit last weekend. Seeing yours looking so good has inspired me to bump it ahead in the build queue. My kit came with the decals but look as if they may as tricky as masking for paint.

What I did was paint the whole airframe a light grey, put on the white decals, gave them a couple of coats of clear, then used these as guides for masking tape. When finished I touched up the decals where needed with white and then cleared it all again for the markings.

It's painted using humbrol enamels Hu60;Hu25 as detailed in the instructions. I used Hu130 for the white.

I brush painted it so don't know if it would be more tricky with an aribrush.

Good idea. Thanks for the tip. I'm just starting back out in the hobby so tips like that save me a lot of frustration. I will be airbrushing i but shouldn't change anything. It's my first glossy so wish me luck. That's a great brush job by the way if I had done that with a brush it would look like a record with all the brush strokes.
