1/350 AFV Guppy II USS Cubera SS-347

My first venture into a seascape diorama. I'm very happy with the way it is turned out.
I'm building this for my Brother-in-law. USS Cubera was his first command that he was assigned too in his 20 yrs Navy Submarine career. I'm Calling this diorama "Homeward Bound"

Water is made with Liquitex Matte Gel, sculpted to make the Bow wake and ship wake, then the undisturbed water was made using a crumbled piece of Aluminum foil then unfolded and pressed on to the still wet gel. Painted with krylon Navy blue and krylon Bahama sea for the wake. then Dried brush with white acrylic paint to bring out the detail of the sculpted areas. Used a pop cycle stick to do the sculpted areas.

I'm currently experimenting with other gel medium products to get and refine details and bring out more details to get a more relistic effect for future seascape projects.

A stunning job! I have a deep respect for your brother-in-law as I do for all members of the armed forces, if you ever hear me criticsing the armed forces or what they are doing, I am really directing it at incompetent politicians!
