Spitfire Dio

Post by EagleDriver »

Hey guys!
Shared this on ISM FB page, and now here.
Tamiya's state-of-the-art kit in 32nd scale. Crashed and some scratch built stuff around it and inside the engine frame.
Criticism is most welcomed

it is great to see not a shiny spitfire for a change, you did splendid work on the weathering here, it looks so realistic!

Beautiful job, the weathering and damage look great, but, what's the story regarding the removal of all the British insignia and serial number decals? Just curious if this was something that was done by the enemy upon getting ahold of a downed enemy plane?

Cheers :cheers2:

Thanx!
The story behind that is:
original WWII British markings was decals /or something similar/ So, since plane is French, their insignia would've been painted onto British roundals, which will be heavily damaged by every day rain in Indochina. Except for the tale. Because the tail was painted over the plane, not over the decal.

Tamiya toolings 1/32 from this model on, allows you to make it in flight and provide a stand for it. So, no troubles for you :)
