Panzer IV 1/35 scale

Post by hansolo »

Hi Guy's

Here are some pictures of my Panzer IV build.
I tried some hairspray on the base coat before applying the dark wash as an experiment.
But it got to shiny.
I had to save the day with pigments to dull it down again.
Worked out reasonably well.

cheers

This model looks frickin awesome! such a superb heavy weathering can not be seen often :)
I´m not a big friend of the hairspray technique (never tried it myself though), i do such effects with Humbrol Maskol/Revell Color Stop.
I´m afraid that one day the not very stable hair spray underneath other layers of paint might come off and cause trouble. I hope i´m wrong about this!

I'll never use hairspray again, that's for sure. ;)
For chipping effects I use Maskol too, thanks to your videos. Works superb!
But I do a lot of chipping by just painting them on with a very fine brush; gives you so much more control.
Thanks for the compliments. Means a lot to me!

Very great build!! I especially like the rust effects. The streaking is nice too.

I'm glad that you managed to get positive results from the HS technique.
It turned out perfectly.
