Tamiya 1:35 ISU-152 Soviet heavy SPG

Post by Radzy »

Hello,
After long struggle I can finally show my finished contribution to first ISM group build.

As I told in build thread, I built the Tamiya 1:35th scale ISU-152 Soviet heavy SPG gun upgraded with aftermarket gun barrel and decals.
This is how I think the vehicle with side number 341 from 3rd battery of 13th Polish Self Propelled Artillery Regiment could look like somewhere at the outsikrts of Berlin just after the war has ended. Short intense mid-spring storm has already washed some battle-dust ... and the crew just went to search for some beer :D (well, as I told, I won't be able to finish the base with crew, so just a cheap excuse :) ).

Thank you all for supporting me with the build and I hope this will be one of the first of the loong story of builds we did together :)
Cheers,
Radek

I've never seen that wet look done before, I think you managed to pull it off. Looks convincing.

Well done mate.

Great work buddy, making a vehicle after a rainstorm is not something often seen on models. You have pulled it off nicely.

Thanks guys, I got some crew and diorama base from MiniArt, so maybe the ISU will look more complete when I finish it off...

I love the wet look! Very brave of you to attempt as it's not something you see often but it adds a level of realism I've not seen before. I hope you do manage to get the dio finished one day - if the rest of it looks half as good as this it'll be breath taking!

Thanks Michael & Phil.

Dio is on the way but this Mini Art stuff is really painful... It will probably eat all my supplies of putty and maybe box of acrylic plaster :D

Great work dude. Those wet effects may not have turned out the way that you hoped but they look fine.
It just not something that most folks are used to seeing on a model.
I thank you for trying it out, for myself, I needed to know how well that stuff worked.
It was a great show, and I learned a lot.
Many thumbs!!
