Grochi M3A3 Bradley CFV Deluxe Edition 1/35

Post by Gwalke »

Hi Folks,

Has anyone bought/built one of these? I got one from Hong Kong for £23 + £12p+p. Seemed a bargain for this kit which included working metal tracks/metal gun barrel. I havnt opend each bag yet, but I am assuming that it is not a cheap counterfit of the real kit lol.

This kit comes in a sturdy, top opening box.

Image
Nicely printed instruction book.

Image
The parts are well packed. Metal and other small parts are within a small box. Track jointing pins and gun barrel are in little tubes.

Image
metal tracks
Image

Image
some work done. note that the tracks are linked by pre-cut metal pins. Some clean up of the pin holes is required with a drill bit to clean out flash, but there is not much.

Image
list of corrections required, mostly cutting off bolts/rivets. I wont bother though.

Image
PE parts, not too taxing!

Image
Bomb disposal chap. Why with a cavalry vehicle?
Image

Image
4 resin parts, ie two different types of bag/backpack. Also metal gun barrel. Muzzle brake on the end nicely detailed. whole barrel is not hollow, just the end (apologies for very poor camera focus).

Work to date. The suspension is fixed so if you want it to move you will have to buy the Meng version (I have the M2A3 in my stash to compare one day)

This model is on the back burner for now (other commitments bah) but I cant wait to get back to it.

I should point out that the top hull is not fixed yet hence the gap. It all goes together well (so far). I think that it is a bit of a bargain but I have heard it said that it is not as well detailed as the Meng versions. then again, I am not very accurate so it makes no odds to me :)

Orochi is legit. I've seen their stuff featured on HLJ before.

Yeh I recommend the Orochi kit, not as detailed as the Meng/no interior option, but so far it builds nicely. this kit was a limited edition, might not be available. I got mine from Hong Kong.

Some progress made..... I have found that some of the part fit is 'vague'. for example the ERA (I think that is what they are) along the side took a bit of doing to get them in some semblance of fitting correctly. The instructions too also sometimes points in the general area..... overall though, I am happy with the kit.

Note my 'workstation'. it is a cardboard box on my lap lol. Room for improvement.

Hi Mack, cheers but please feel free to post your build on the forum. I hope to learn something :)
I usually get fed up when the build is complete and leave them unpainted/unfinished for months so it will be a while before mine is finished. I liked the tracks, they went together well and look great. How did you 'paint' yours? I intend getting the Ultimate track stuff.....
