'ello from snowy Boston,Ma USA

Post by Errol »

Greetings Gents,
Pretty sure i have watched every Youtube video you have posted. Really enjoyed the series on the Bf109 as i have that coming to me in 1/72. I took a small break from scale modelling ( 40 years) and the changes and advances in the hobby are very interesting. Back in the stone age of the hobby you were basically on your own, there were a few print magazines to get ideas from and the shops you bought from were of little help. The quality of the models were ghastly!
With all the info from the internet it's almost too much to take in ! The hobby itself fits right in to my time and budget but i'm going to take it slow buying smaller easier kits so I do not burn myself out. I think that getting over excited and jumping in with both feet just to drown in the pool has ended a novices career too soon.
The Ultimate line looks so good I would love to try the whole line. But across the Pond here there is no USA retailer (stockist  ) I made an order from Scalehobbyist and they seem to be very good. Great prices and fast shipping they are shipping from Nashua,NH which is the next state over. I'll contact them to pester them to carry Ultimate as others have done.
In addition to 4 feet of snow on the ground the temperatures are below zero (F) every night and a high of twenty degrees (F) in the daytime. It has snowed twenty out of the 27 days of Feb. so i have lots of free time to build when i'm not shoveling snow.

If you plan on airbrushing, the Ultimate thinner is unbeatable.

Image For reference the mailbox in the foreground is 4 feet off the ground. Another storm inbound today. This is slowing down my deliveries of new kits !

:welcome: to ISM, Errol! :) :thumb1:

I feel your pain with the Snow, I live in Southern New Hampshire, about 50 miles north of Boston center, and we've been hammered with it too!

Cheers, :cheers2:

Hi Errol, I'm up on the north shore here and I def feel your pain. I order almost all my stuff from scalehobbyist and I love em, I've reached a point where if I don't buy another kit until I die I'll still leave the kids quite a stash....lol
