Sd.Kfz.7/2 3.7 cm Flak Half Truck (early version)

Post by Skat »

Hey guys,

I've started this kit lately and as I still consider myself a beginner I was amazed by the amount of pieces this kit has :). 20 plastic sprues (13 + 7 for the tracks), 1 clear, 4 photo etch and a small bag with the rubber tires and a string rope and one small copper wire. The guide has 40 pages and another additional sheet for the painting scheme ( gray color or camo scheme).

This seems a very nice kit with lots of crisp details and almost no flesh.

I hope I manage to get something nice out of it :)

I've started with what seems to be the gear box:

Then the chasis:

And lastly, for now, the engine which I like a lot:

That's it for now.

PS. This is my first build thread so any advice of what to post to get the thread better is welcomed :)

Cheers!
Chris

Hey guys,

Christmas is at the corner and I hadn't so much work so I could keep going on my half truck :)

Here's an update:

I guess this is the towing system:

Small photo etch parts are killing me :)

Image

Added the running gear, suspension, gas tanks and some other small details:

Direction and steering wheel:

Started the wheels too:

And this is where I got so far:

Until next time,
Cheers! :)

Looks like an impressive kit with the amount of detail. How is the fit? And how many times did you glue your fingers togheter with the small pieces of brass :thumb1: looks like a fun build. Good luck

Hey guys,

Here's the last update for this year :)

Finished the tracks. Pff, very tedious work. Every track link is made out of 3 parts and each track has 54 links :)

Started and finished the carriage. I've decided to let 1 hatch closed.

And the cabin:

And attached it to the carriage:

Here's what I've got so far:

@gustavlekstal: The kit fits very well. The detail is also very good.

Until next time,

Cheers and Happy New Year!

Nice detail, especially with all the photo etch. Don't know if it is the lighting or what, the truck looks silver in the primed picture.

Yeah, I've been told that before after showing the pictures to some friends. It's the light. The paint is totally black :)
