Chiefs Revell Hunter FGA.9

Hey you guys! Modern armour and Lord Coen builds are on hold at the moment, so I've made a start on the Hunter. No after market unfortunately, but it's supposed to be a great kit oob.

Got the cockpit done. I sanded off the moulded in seat harness, and made a new one from scrap PE and plastic card.

Just noticed in the pics that the Kristal Klear isn't quite dry, and there are a couple of cotton wool pubes that need removing, lol!!









Couple more bits to add, and it'll be done.

Bit more done on the hunter.

For some reason, the front wheel well is missing the rear wall?! Easily sorted with a bit of evergreen.



The instructions would have you install the front wheel support quite early. And the way it's built it wouldn't fit in properly later on. So I built up the wheel well with evergreen to give more support.



And added brass rod to the leg.



So now I can safely install the leg at a later stage!



Intakes needed a little work, don't think it'll be visible, but you never know!



Got the fuse together, and wings on. I've spent a LOT of time filling and sanding to get rid of steps at the joins. Annoying as there were no gaps, just steps!



Filled the nose with lead, and then MORE sanding as there was another step to get rid of!



Forgot to mention, I've added some brass barrels to the gun ports. Not strictly accurate, but better than the closed off kit part.



And this is where it's at now. Just like to say that I HATE masking for hard edge cam schemes!! Lol!

Hey guys, just a quick update.

Got the paint down, gloss coat on, and decals done. Hard to see here, but there's a ton of tiny little decals on there!

Oooo I like the silver on the underside mate, really nice. Metal finishes on RAF jets were never very pristine, and you have captured a good look there. I think some oil streaking will be right at home there!

Cheers buddy yeah, I guess my threads are shorter than most. I get in the 'zone' and forget to take pics. Also, if the build goes well, I don't see the need to document everything, just problem areas or things I change from the kit.

All sorts! Had a nightmare with the alclad satin varnish, polished it out but wasn't happy with it. Had the problem with the windscreen, fixed that, but getting it blended back onto the fuselage was a struggle. So I wasn't happy with that either. Then I managed to knock the rear stabs off!

In the end it was just sat on my desk, mocking me. And it's huge, so it was proper staring me in the face every time I went in the cave, lol! So I decided to take charge of the situation and get rid. Hopefully it'll be recycled to help make a new kit somewhere!
