Eduard Longest day Spit

Post by Nige201980 »

Hi guys while i was waiting for the filler to dry on my Bf 110 i decided to break this out and get going on it

Image

on breaking open the box i was soon drooling over the contents and so i just start to get cracking on it.
Image
one side of the cockpit with really nice detail.

I drilled out the lighting holes at the top of the seat back
Image

I also drilled out the bar in front of the seat has they weren't deep enough
Image

And that is where im at at the mo so far im really enjoying this and it should go together well.

Any way thanks for looking

Ho god, I've got this one in the stash. already in my favourites and in the followed threads.

One thing i find disappointing is that they propose you all the mobile parts (rudder, stabilizers, flaps) as separates parts but you only can put them flat... weird no?

Enjoy yourself and i'll keep on eye on it.

Some more work done on the spit.

Image

The exhausts are a 4 part jobbie but they dont need drilling out which saved me a job.
Image

And the undercarriage bays are made up of six parts each and look cracking with rivet detail on the side walls of the wheel bays.
Image

Hopefully ill get it all primed and painted this week end any how thanks for looking

So on with the spit managed to get a solid day at the bench and get her near enough all painted.

Image

So just some detail painting yellow leading edges and red gun patches and it will be on with the gloss and then the decals.

Very nice, hope you''l have time to finish it.

Looks ike this kit is very easy to build. Is the fitting Ok? I remember complaining about this and he made a comparison with a tamiya spitfire and the difference was impressive.

Hope you'll enjoy it till the end+...which appears to be near.

Very neat. I got this one with a slew of Brassin parts for it in the stash as well. Are you using the resin bombs?

Thanks John no I'm not using the bomb because for me the spitfire is a thoroughbred fighter and to add a bomb for me spoils her lines.

Well after a hectic couple of weeks i managed to get back to this superb kit and it keeps on being great.

the decals are nice and thin and with a bit of microset and sol they laid down beautiful in to all the panel lines. on the invasion stripes i scratched some of the paint away to leave the camo showing and on the leading edges i sanded them down again to show the camo through.

This as been simply the best kit i have ever built the fit was excellent and the decals are amazing. I would highly recommend it to anyone who wants to build a Spit in 1;48

again as always thanks for stopping by.
