Hi from Tennessee!

Post by Odo »

Hi! Im 17 and extremely new to modeling, about a year or two ago I built about a dozen model rockets, thats about all of my modeling experience. I always had great fun with it and built kits that were scale replicas to the real deal (Saturn V, Soyuz, SLS ect., never any of the fake colorful ones that exist just to fly!) So I have experience in the sense of small pieces and getting everything right.. however I am still very much a scrub when it comes to this stuff. (Although Im a perfectionist so hopefully thatll help.)

I am very much a WW2 aircraft enthusiast, I think that was definitely the golden age of planes. Im also into space and such, mainly the rockets involved! The Coldwar and Spacerace interest me greatly. Last but not least I also love ships! Sailing ships to be exact, Ive always thought them to be interesting. (HMS Victory is definitely my favorite ship.)

Ive picked up a bf109 G-10 Revell kit at 1:48 scale from my local HobbyLobby, Ive always loved the bf109 and it was an impulse buy. I dont think I know what Ive gotten myself into  So Im hoping to get some tips and advice from this forum, because I really have no idea what Im doing! What ever meager knowledge I had on the ways of painting things were lost from the 2 year break in modeling. Considering I also cannot afford an airbrush at this time, Im going to have a challenging time using only a brush.. brush strokes and all.. (I was looking for a forum section specifically for asking questions? DIdnt see anything like that but if there is one Id love a link!)

Anyways, thats about it! Hope to see you on the forums!
