Tamiya 1/35 Panzer Kampfwagen II

My first go at a 1/35 scale AFV. Really enjoyed the whole process, from building to weathering. Used Humbrol Maskol for the chipping, Humbrol weathering pigments, Humbrol Decalfix for the pigment adhesive and of course the most excellent Ultimate washes Paint was all Vallejo.

I did forget to apply a silver/steel effect where the tracks would touch the ground, which I'll get round to adding.

Only problem now is I think I may have caught the 1/35th scale AFV bug! Lol

That's really well done Karl!! That kit is also an excellent choice for a first try at 1/35 armour, so that was well done too.
When you decide to add the shine to the tracks, don't use silver or a really bright colour. A dull gunmetal or gungrey is a better colour. You can use an HB pencil as well if you like. It has the same colour.
It will add a more realistic level of shine.

Haha I'm had a time on the bright side?! Enjoying some planes right now. Good to try different things to evolve in this hobby. If I can give you a tip on the hardest thing with afv. Chipping! Chipping with maskol, you need to deposit the sponge on of it on a piece of paper to make smaller chipping.

Thankyou very much Coen. Really appreciate you stopping by and taking time to comment I chose this piece for 2 reasons. First up was the price, £9 delivered from Amazon which I thought was a steal! Secondly, as it was my first go at all out weathering, I didn't want to go for something too big and complicated and expensive only for me to make a total hash of it. But this has given me the confidence to try bigger and better things

Thanks for the tip on shining the tracks. Gun colours added to my shopping list. Tried an HB pencil but hasn't shown up that great.

Great tip on the sponge, cheers mate! I agree, building different genres keeps this great hobby interesting! I think the only thing I haven't tried is Sci-Fi.... but theres time!
