Tamiya 1/35 Type 97 Chi-Ha

Just barely made it!!!

Well, here it is; the Type 97 Chi-Ha. I had a lot of fun taking part in this GB, and also because I now have a Japanese tank in my collection. I also got to learn a bit more about WW2 Japanese armor in the process.

So what do I think of this kit? Well, it's pretty good for being an older Tamiya release; there's no motorization holes to fill, the parts fit pretty good, the only real bit of heavy-duty work is filling the spaces under the sponsons.

This project also gave me a chance to really test my PE skills (and my patience along with them! ) with all those tiny grabhandles. Would I ever do it again? Probably not. But at least now I KNOW I can should I ever change my mind in the future.

I would definitely recommend this kit to any modeler of any skill or age.

I want to throw a shout-out to Karim (amsviking) for persuading (in other words, twisting my arm ) me to try working with the tiny PE parts; it really added a lot more detail. I also want to thank everyone who left replies on my Build posting; you guys kept my interest alive in this project. And last but DEFINITELY not least, I want to thank Lee and Paul for providing us with the ISM forum and these Group Builds/ SIG's to participate in. Cheers to all of you!
