Trumpeter 1/16 panzer IV

Post by 7foot9 »

Hi all this is my build log of Trumpeters new 1/16 panzer IV. I have this kit in my stash for a few months and have final plucked up the courage yo start and hopefully finish it. The kit has over 2000 parts a metal barrel and 7 frets of photo etch. So here's what I think so far it has typical Trumpeter problems such as, bad fit in a few palaces and the massive amount of sink marks that all need filling. Other than that it is a beautiful kit packed with detail and very little need for after market or scratch building. Although hopefully Aber will bring out so PE for it.

The massive box that has four boxes inside.

You get a very nicely detailed engine.

What it think is the electric generator.

And the main interior that still needs a lot of work hopefully I can get it ready for paint in the next few days or so.
thanks for having a look and would like to hear your feed back or questions.

hello friend ...
I'm from Spain and my English is not very good, but I would like to continue your work and teach mine to see what you think.

I only found problems with photoetched, I do not like anything.
please teach your progress, and thanks for your comments.
a greeting and goodbye.

Great work, looking good. Mine should be with me next Wednesday . I could be a rivet counter but I wont as have photos of 12th SS Panzer division Tank 615 with Zimmerit and no reviewer has mentioned this kit having said Zimmerit. as I know the resin people will be in the process of doing this and I can`t wait to build this kit I will just build out of box.

WOW that is one huge box full of plastic!! Love the level of detail that Trumpeter puts into these large cats! I saw some pix of their future 1/16 Jagdtiger and it looks promising as well.
