A very nice cut away u-boat kit from Revell. I had loads of fun oil washing and toying with all the details.

Looks fantastic, what did you use for the railing at this scale?

Thank you Scott! How lucky that we are landlubbers. The survival rate in those rust buckets are zero in perilous encounters with destroyers. More chance of survival in a tommy cooker against a Tiger.

You´re too kind mate. It took many days just detailing the bulkheads. It´s a time consuming project, but once you nailed it, you can be sure that it will whet your appetite for more cutaways. Imagine doing this:

You´re too kind mate. It took many days just detailing the bulkheads. It´s a time consuming project, but once you nailed it, you can be sure that it will whet your appetite for more cutaways. Imagine doing this:

I looked recently at that one. Pretty pricey and huuuge!!! Not to mention that i dont have the skill or talent to paint all those 48 figures.
Other then that, its looks like an amazing kit by going after the photos.

Apart from crippling the bank. It would require a huge amount of space. A wall mounted shelf would need to be at least 50 inches long. Having said that. It must be incredible to be an owner of a monstrous submarine that´s 1398 mms inches long.

How do you add rust on such small parts and make it look in scale?

Hello Patrik. I just realised the last post of my Type XIB was sitting on the wrong thread. I will get the admin to delete my post. My last update is on the correct thread now. There´s no easy way of doing the rusty streaks. But it helps to use a hairy stick with a thin tip. I hold the the coning tower upside down and drag very quickly in a vertical motion.

Nice stash, for starters. Oh indeed. She´s begging to be built. No you´re right. Give it some time before you decide. Do you have any other builds on the go?
