Hi Everyone from Blyth,North East,UK

Post by Bignev »

Hi everyone, my name is Nev i loved modeling when i was younger shall we say, and i was looking for a hobby that i could start a while back which would help relax me after work and found myself watching Pauls video builds and that was it,i am now hooked again to my fiance~s dismay.I had never wanted to startup hand painting so airbrushing just fit the build perfectly for me. I have been at it for a while now and was crazy enough to start myself off after 35 year break with the the nice and easy Revell 1:96 Apollo Saturn V,25 year anniversary edition (or so i thourght, :bash: i have always loved the Saturn years and wish i could relive them again)I never knew it was such a old kit and has it really kept me busy, its been a fantastic time for me and i am loving every second of it.I wish i had Pauls knoledge but i guess that will come in the next 20 years or so.Not forgetting Lees reviews they are excellent and i find myself checking them out just wishing i could justify buying them but sadly it will be a while before then.
I will admit to buying a Airfix 1:24 Spitfire, an aircraft i have always been crazy about but i will not be touching it before i get some more practice on some smaller models first.Anyways i think i have said enough to bore yous so i am putting on a couple of pictures of my Saturn V upto date,
I will update these pictures as these are the only ones i have at this time. and HELLO AGAIN to everyone.

Well i have managed to get her painted up but have not tryed anything fancy on it yet. I am going to wait till i have had some pactice on smaller stuff first because it will be impossible to hide a mistake on something so big,I have never done any of the shading and everythimg else so this gets done only when i know what i am doing.I built a Murcury Redstone rocket next to it purely so people can get a idea on the size between the first rocket to take a american into space and then onto the moon

Thanks Corpsman very much, i have to admit i never expected it to be so big. I am very happy though the way she turned out, when i learn a few weathering techniques and shading techniques i might try and improve on it as its just basic colours at the moment,i am happy to leave it as it is for now though.
