Revell/Renwal 1/32 M41 Walker Bulldog

Post by stoves »

This is my first tank kit. From what I have read this a revell reissue of an old renwal kit. The date on this kit is 2012. It does have a 1 piece barrel , but the lower hull is in 4 pieces and the turret is in 3 which kinda sucks. This will be a practice kit really for me to get used to tank kits. I plan on getting a Tamiya kit next.

Good luck on this old guy. I think doing these older kits can be very rewarding. Sure, they don't have 200-piece suspensions or that microscopic detail on the welds under the fenders like the new super-accurate (EXPENSIVE) kits....but they can definitely be built into beautiful looking models.
You can spend all your effort on scratch-building small improvements and tons of time on a super-sweet paint job. Experiment and try new things out.
Practice on those old Tamiya and Italeri kits and you'll be amazed how quickly you'll be finishing beautiful models (and how much money will be left over in your bank account). Then, when you get your $$$$ Meng/AFV club/Tamiya/Dragon kit your skills will be all the better.
I can't wait to see your work, buddy
Dave.

Made some progress on the kit. Fun build so far with only a couple of fitment issues. The paint job won't be anything special as I don't have an airbrush.

Finished the model today. It's looks clean because I do not have any washes are an airbrush at this point. Have weathering set and an airbrush on the way with my next kit.
