1940 Ford Coupe

Post by adrianellis0 »

New project , which I'm hoping not to make too much of a mess of  New to modeling so don't expect too much ! Started the body in Tamiya metallic blue , but think I'm going to change it to something a bit more gangsta , and with a Ford I'm thinking black , here's a 1:1 I found that looks good

Unboxing pics , body painted

One heck of a mess

How on earth do you guys make this hobby look so easy ??? :wall:

OK , so the chassis is built . am trying out the true metal stuff from am interactive . the instructions call out the color of the chassis as black , so I used gun metal , as its quite dark . I think it looks good , hope it turns out OK . in the picture is the intake manifold in aluminum in the true metal also , hope you like

Also got the block built , painted it in Tamiya x7 red as called out in the instructions , think it looks way too toy like , so I'll try out the mig oil and grease wash , this is build of firsts , scary

That's the perfect look for a 40 Ford. Just picking out some bold heads and adding a dark oil colored wash to the engine should mane it look a lot more real.

Hey hillbilly , really thinking that I'm going to go black now , blue doesn't do the tough looking lines justice I reckon

I got this finished awhile ago , im still very new to this , so its a bit rough . I kinda gave up on the wip thread , as one big mess just seemed to lead to another and it became discouraging. Here it is then
