Tamiya 1/32 Zero A6M5

Hello there
Here we are the Tamiya 1/32 Zero A6M5 an nice kit to do , l wanted to paint it a bit different than green or grey green, This Zero was based on the Rabaul island and the ground crews painted the zero to blend in with the local area, this zero would have been around the time of the great the great Marianas Turkey Shoot.
I used Tamiya colours on the plane then sealed with clear. Then l used light grey and a light tan and a bit of white oil paint to blended down the paint work. After that l placed another coat of clear and then a dark wash over the panel lines, after that l used some mig pigments on the wing roots and the wheels ,then thin down red brown and black for the exhaust .

Actually, the entire model is impressive; the weathering is top-notch!

No I used Tamiya tape for the stripes but the marking are from the kit try to used my own mask ,but l could not get them to settle down well.
What you can not see in the cockpit was all the lead wire that l used.

The paint scheme you chose for this is really cool. I built the Navy version about a year ago and it was one of the best kits I've built. I've built the Mustang and the Corsair as well. Did you have any trouble with the landing gear? I actually enjoyed that part of the build and they work pretty well. But, it was the most tricky part of assembly. I Love the cockpit in this kit as well. There is so much detail in it. All of the 1/32's are amazing. I hope to tackle the Spit soon. One more thing, I did use masks to paint the Hinomaru's and stripes on mine. I used a circle cutter. If you apply the circles first, you can use them as a guide to apply the masks around them and pull the circles off. It works quite effectively. It was a time consuming process but worth it.
