This is where I got too by the deadline!! Pretty poor show I know. I suffered a bout of Ill health which took me away from the bench for quite some time. I can manage short bouts here and there.

This is where I am at now:

Nice evening build after work. Finished the Aber barrel... Pretty much managed to stick half the PE to everything but the model! :wtf:

Once got the hang it was quite fun to put together if a little over engineered!

Ok pretty much finished the building just need to attach the spare track holders. couple of questions as I am a Tiger newb! I am planning on using fruils with the burnishing fluid for the spare links. Should I leave them off until after painted or do I need to attach to model and paint etc?

The gun looks mean!

Second question. I have done the wheels but the plan is not very clear. I have assembled the middle parts but for the outside wheels, it is saying I can choose one with a longer name on the tire and the other has a shorter name. What is confusing me is I only have enough for the outside. It shows I must put single wheels on the inside but all I have left is the option I decide not to go with, if that makes sense? Any advice is greatly appreciated!

I can choose the left side or the right and have 2 lots of 4.

Apart from that it's all gone together pretty smoothly :th:

It looks great Nev, I'm wondering if you've glued the bow and lower glacis plate together yet?
It looks like there is a gap there but I can't see it for certain.

On my tiger I've burnished my tracks for the turret and temporarily attached them for photos. Since I've burnished them I'll remove them and paint the tank. That's what I'll do anyway.
Normally with all other tracks I leave them on the turret and just detail paint them later.

As for the tyres, there are two types. One has more rim bolts than the other. That's the important difference.
Here is a detail shot that may explain it.

So you would pick the wheels that would either be for a late or an early version of the mid production tiger.

Thanks mate that makes a lot more sense! As for the plate I can't seem to get it to conform, it kept on pinging out. I was thinking of filling with putty and putting the zim back in. Really appreciate you help Mike you are the best :cheers2:

All primed and ready for the base coats.

I did a wee bit of pre shading and highlights as an underpainting. Probably will lose it in the next stages but was fun to do.

Now i need to decide on the camo scheme!! One thing I am not very good at is getting things historically right :ooops:
