Revell 1/72 Albatros III

Post by BaldyBuilderBoy »

This will be my first build on here. I got the kit to try out a natural wood effect that I'd read about in a magazine, Only cost me three quid so cheaper than the mag itself. I wasn't expecting much from such an old dog of a kit but I was still rather shocked with what was in the box...... This could get messy. :eeek:

It's flashtastic folks!! and there's ejector pin marks everywhere so I'm gonna need to expend a bit of effort dealing with those.
There's no cockpit to speak about just those pins that are supposed to support a pilot figure; but there's nothing on this planet that will make me put THIS into the model! Anyone remember that dead alien pilot in the abandoned spacecraft in the original "Alien" film?

That decided then it looks like I'm gonna be having my first go at some scratchbuilding. I've seen Chief5437's paper cockpit and if I can get anywhere near to that I'll be delighted.
Wish me luck folks and I'll see what sort of a mess I can create.
In the stash: Revell 1/32 Beaufighter, Airfix 1/48 Lightning, Academy 1/72 Catalina, Academy 1/72 B17F, and THAT Revell Voyager Kit.
