Coen's Canuck Speeder !!!

Post by Coen »

This sat on my shelf for almost a whole week before I just couldn't stand it anymore and had to build it. haha
I've been through the box already when it first arrived and I knew that I was in for a treat for the details and wonderful fits.
Once I opened the bags and lay hands on sprue it was all confirmed.
An hour later it was built and ready for paint.... that is... if I were to just build a movie Speeder.
Muhahahahahaha

Now before I go on.. this is an interesting but unknown feature of the kit.
The kit comes with stickers for the markings as well as waterslide decals.
The stickers make awesome masks for the canopy. There are two canopy's in the kit, one with a frame and separate glass insert, and a second that has a poseable canopy for the open position. The poseable one could use the stickers for the masks. You can either use the sticker itself or use the removed sticker as a template. :)

Now...
After seeing Paul's insanely cool build of his AT-ST I decided to do something similar with my Speeder.
I have a whole drawer full of Canadian aircraft decals in 1/48 and I have an entire wall of spare parts, so I figured that I could make a go of it.
:)

So... how about some rockets.... maybe a nice bomb?

And that little blaster in the rear... nah... lets go .50 cal!!!
Better yet... TWINS

I'm thinking WWII Canadian Mosquito camouflage colours and Canadian unit markings.

This kit is freaking awesome beyond belief!!! It was built in an hour, but it's a painting subject so that's the focus I think.

Here's some shots of some really well built studio replicas by Nexus Models.

Sweet mike, gave me a goodly chuckle, definitely going to have to do something similar with my cylon raider.
John, whats on my bench? Usually a mess and a couple of different models a week.
My motto? I'm not lazy, just energy efficient.

Camouflage on. Something RAFish I think is in order ;)
Next is fading, detail painting, gloss, and decals.

Thanks Gav!!

Nearly done now.
The speeder just needs a bit of weathering and I'm calling it done. The figures are also nearly there.

Dude, you should send it off after Paul's Germanified ATST! Now that would be a hell of a fight! Awesome work Sir.

I wish I hadn't seen the pics of that 1/18 speeder though - man alive, how I want one of those babies now!:
Its been tried and tested, it works! So don't blame the system if you're no good.
