This is the gallery of my first ever WIP. Absolutely loving the forum, please see my finished Hurricane below:

Built out of the box except for an Eduard fabric and PE seatbelt. Painted with Vallejo Model Air, washed with dark pastels and weathered for chipping and oil streaks / gun smoke with enamels.

With regard to the pictures, where possible I tried to take them as if they could have been taken by someone standing on the ground next to the real thing. I think it adds weight to the model and goes some way to overcoming the scale factor.






















Next up on the WIP front is a bit different for me. I saw a fascinating doc on German SP Guns the other day and before I knew it my sweaty fingers had ordered one from Amazon.

That is a stonking build, photography really sets it off as well. Can you tell me what method you used for the chipping, was it just enamels on a brush?

Hi Avgas and thanks. I used Humbrol metalcoat for the chipping and used a very fine brush. If it ever looked OTT as I applied it, I washed it off with white spirit and started again. The wing leading edges and exhausts were dry-brushed using the same stuff. As was the canopy / windscreen frames while they were still masked.
