1 /48 Eduard Limited edition Fokker D.VII "Sieben Schwaben"

Post by Opapapa »

Ok, this one took me over an year to finish. I started with enamel paints and finished it with acrylics. I just lost my interest with this one in one part and then I just forgot the whole kit cause my stash had simply grown too big. But... looking back, I can still recommend this kit to everyone! Like every other Eduard WW1 kits. In the end it was a joy to build. Only thing is that i would go for some aftermarket stuff with the Lozenge camo decals. But here's the bird:

I would love to say that this camo is a result of my exceptional masking and painting skills!
But yes, they're decals. About 4-5 larger pieces per wing. All the stripes on the wings are decals too.

Great work!! I've been considering doing a wingnut wings kit for awhile. I'm just curious, was there rigging in this particular kit? I know with wingnut you have to purchase it separately.

Usually you have to buy the rigging material separately. With this one (in the tail and between wheel struts) I used Ez-line. What comes to rigging, Fokker D.VII is really easy, because the wings didn't have any. :) I think some stretched sprue would do the trick with this one as well.
