Hi gang, this will be my first build.

The AT-ST

The Plan: I am going to build the AT-ST into a diorama base with a photo background... that's the plan anyway!!
I think I will used the supplied base and fix the walker to it then build around it to make a forest floor.

Update 1

Got all parts trimmed of trees and a couple of sub-assemblies done. As Mike(Coen) has mentioned, don't be too eager to dry fit some parts as they fit very snug and are difficult to get apart again.

Next stage is to prime the parts. I am going to prime in black and then gradually put the grey down leaving some black showing thru and shading. A few AFV techniques to be used here I think.

Looks nice especially the cockpit detail I don't expect bandai to make that but I guess I was wrong

Bandai kit is really well done, not sure how they got the bad reputation, must be some older stuff bc the three I have all look well moulded

Update 2

Have got a bit done this week. Primed the pieces and put down base coat. Also Detailed painted the cockpit.


some items have also been base coated in XF 83


One thing to note paint the 2 clear areas in front of neck hole as this is shown in the cockpit floor

I love that they included the Chewie figure in there.
When my little 100 lb puppy dog yawns she makes this wookie-ish noise that has earned her nickname as Chewbakka

Update 3

Got heaps done. All painted and assembled. Have started on some weathering also. Once I have the base done with bush/foliage I will add a bit more
specific weathering that matches. Chewy to paint next

Update 4

Hi guys getting to the end. Have put a Ultimate dark dirt wash and made a start on the base. I have put the supplied base in the middle of a black 6 x 4 photo frame and enlarged. Next to put in some greenery and forest floor debris.

Chewy has got his fur painted and will paint his utility belt when my eyes recover!!

Final Update

All Done. Was hoping to do a little more on the base but due to budget restraints in this fiscal year LOL.
