Hi Guys & Help Me!

Post by philwjones1985 »

Hi Everyone,

I'm Phil, i'm just getting into building scale models and completed my fist model yesterday (an airfix red arrows folland gnat) and well i really enjoyed building it but the paint job is AWFUL. I used the humbrol acrylics that came with the kit along with the supplied brush, i realise this is not the ideal setup so can anyone suggest what paints and brushes to use as i cant afford an airbrush setup at the moment.

Cheers

Phil

yeah that supplied paint is goopy :)

small person and I made one of these last year, I would go with a flatish brush and maybe a proper can of humbrol enamel, or tamiya acrylic - it looked nothing like doing it with an airbrush but it didnt look half bad either, there are a ton of paint choices so a good half this hobby seems to entail trying stuff :) - so you may just have to keep trying
stuff is being built... very slowly....

Fair point, i'd love to get an airbrush but just too many pennies at the moment. so flat brush and buy a few different paints and see what works.

Cheers Aliktren
