Thinner Ratios

I saw a chart somewhere with recommended mixing ratios with various paints. Where can I find it?

I'm not good with maths so I need to ask what is probably obvious to others.

Is this the % of the total mix that should be thinners, or is it the % of the paint volume that should be added in thinners.

So, if it says 50%, is the ratio 1:1 (the first case) or is it 2:1 - paint to thinners (the latter case).

Think of it like this. If the mix is 50% say for the Tamiya paint then you want 50 drops of thinner to 50 drops of paint. If it's Vallejo Model Air which is 15% then you want 15 drops of thinner to 85 drops of paint. It all has to add up to a hundred. Obviously you arent always going to want a hundred drops of something in your paint cup so just divide it by ten. So now you have five drops of thinner for five drops of paint for the Tamiya and 1.5 drops of thinner to 8.5 drops of paint for the Vallejo. You aren't going to measure .5 of a drop of anything but just get as best as or make it three drops of thinner to 17 drops of paint.

You don't have to be that accurate, it's only a rough guide. When I'm using Tamiya I just pour it in until it looks about right. Vallejo is a bit more accurate as it comes in dropper bottles.
