Ahoy

Post by FlyingSailor »

My name is Jamie; I've been watching the ISM video news show for a while and posting every now and then on the Facebook page but I thought I'd join the forum and start taking part here. I've just posted my first model here, my latest, an Eduard MiG-15.

My passion is for weathering. In my modelling I always refer to the real thing and try my best to reproduce what I see be that in aircraft (mainly) and AFVs (although I haven't done one of those for a few years now.

The day job is Royal Navy pilot. I've flown all sorts from Tornado F3 on exchange with the crabs, Hawks, Lynx and latterly as an instructor both on the awful Grob Tutor and more recently the Tucano. Currently though I am driving a desk in Navy Command, one of the perks of promotion although I am due to do a Grob refresher course soon.

Anyway, that's me.

Ah, a fishhead! Welcome to ISM Jamie, my sympathies with the Grob (need any spare propellors? ) I'm currently poling around in Mr Cessna and Mr Piper's finest, nice to have another aviator on board.
Regards, Dave.

Welcome to the forum. I have flown in the Tutor a few times when I was a cadet. Saw the solo display one flying at the Scottish Airshow yesterday as well.

Just realised who this is haha. Really love your work mate, seen some stunning pieces from yourself, and particularly love the weathered aircraft you can produce, stunning.
