1/35 Tamiya Hanomag Sdkfz 251/1.

Post by plasmahal »

1/35 Tamiya Hanomag Sdkfz 251/1.

My second armour build and new things learnt (still learning) were using chipping medium and pigments.

This Tamiya kit was first released around 1971 and still builds easily into a nice model.

Kit Manufacture: Tamiya (35020*2200).
Scale: 1/35.
Type: Hanomag Sdkfz 251/1.
Extras used: OOB.
Paints and colours used: Primer = MIG Ammo Rust. Vallejo Chipping Medium. Tamiya XF-63 german grey. Citadel Runefang Steel for metal drybrushing. Tamiya X-9 brown for the seats.
Weathering: Flory models grime wash and MIG European dust pigments.

Nice work indeed. I'm about to start on one of these but will be doing the DAK colour scheme. Just finished a Tamiya PZ II F to go with it. Thats an old kit too but it was awful to put together. Loads of gaps, flash and general nastiness.

An awful Kit? I build that kit and it was very easy and fun to build. It was one of my first models and I loved it.I posted a few pic of it on this forum. I kinda like Tamiya's older kits
