raised panel lines

Post by Reders »

Hi Everyone,

Can anyone point me in the right direction on how to weather a kit with raised panel lines?

Thanks in advance

Since no one has responded I'll take a crack at this.

First, avoid kits with raised panels lines.
B, you can try dry brushing to lighten the color of the raised lines.
Thirdly and maybe lastly, washes should still accumulate around those areas as well. Just let them sit for around 20 minutes before wiping off.

Good luck.

what Mincemeat said.
I'd avoid kits with raised panel lines like the plague.
However, in some cases, you just don't have a choice.

If you're feeling especially brave, you can always try re-scribing all the panel lines, and sanding down the raised ones.
Otherwise, just build and weather like you would any other kit - just be weary around seam lines and sanding, as you're going to have to re-scribe those lines - at least.
