Seeking a metal barrel set for the "HobbyBoss" 1:16 Tiger I.........

Post by JimJ »

Seeking a metal barrel set for the "HobbyBoss" 1:16 Tiger I.........and I have driven myself "Google" CRAZY!!!! :wall: :wall:
Does anyone know of a distributor in the U.S. who has the 1:16 "Aber" after-market parts?? Or...........is there another, cheaper, alternative that I am not aware of??

I did find these guys in the U.K. - http://www.welshdragonmodels.co.uk/aber ... 2157-p.asp
But they say "out of stock", and I can't get a reply to an email............

Sure would like to get a nice upgrade barrel for this kit, but it's starting to look like the barrel is going to cost me more than the kit, AND be much!! harder to find :(

Thanks for any assist................Jim J.

Did a search on their site.......they stock only one for the Tamiya, and it's "out of stock" as well :(
Oh well, back to the drawing board..................Thanks for the link.

Got frustrated & went back to "Google".........didn't find a metal barrel, but DID find a metal barrel "extender", which might be just as good.
These guys seem to have the most 1:16 armor "AM" I've seen, if anyone has interest...............

Aber have one and it fits both Tamiya and Hobby Boss. But as you said, it isn't cheap. Sheer size means its going to cost a fair whack plus international postage.

Given some other sites sell barrels and brakes separately, the Aber product may still be the best out there in terms of value.

When it comes to 1/16, the only cheap item out there is probably the kit itself! I nearly bought the Hobby Boss kit this week but they couldn't guarantee Christmas delivery. Otherwise I would be in the same boat as you Sir. I'd already found the Zimmerit and a replacement MG34 barrel. Thankfully I didn't weigh in on the AM before I bought the kit (or didn't buy it, to be precise)!

Its been tried and tested, it works! So don't blame the system if you're no good.

Should be interesting to see how you knock her together.
I only spent $80 Canadian on my hobby boss tiger... But nearly $450 US on the after market.
Still cheaper than the Tamiya kit.

This will be both my first armor build, AND my first large scale armor build, so I plan to take it slow & do lots of research for building techniques............not having a lot of success posting pictures, so maybe by the time I get it done, I'll have figured that out :(
Not a big one for posting pictures & such anyway.................
I do look forward to it, I think it's going to be both a challenge and fun.
