Where do you keep your built kits?

Post by Avgas »

i have a display cab and a couple of cabinet tops but that's it. I've given a lot of models away once I've built them just because I haven't room for them. How do you guys with mega stashes manage?
Regards, Dave.

I have 3 display cabinets wich are roughly 40x30 cm and have 4 layers in them (ikea i think)
Besides that i have 4 massive tubs of doom
And i have several shelves on the wall for the lighter stuff as those can't handle too much weight

Windowsills, dvd shelves (on top of the dvds), computer desk, tops of speakers, ceiling, tops of speakers and an old shelf unit thingy.
John, whats on my bench? Usually a mess and a couple of different models a week.
My motto? I'm not lazy, just energy efficient.

I have four large shelves in my den, and two in the lounge. They're all full, so now I have to prioritise when I finish a build. Something gets sacrificed to the bin to make way for the new stuff, if it meets the standard that is, lol!

I have one bookshelf in the living room full and I have glass shelves built into my home office wall that carry about 32 planes. These planes are my "diecast" collection I accumulated before I started to build plastic models. So now I have almost no room for the models I build in the future

I have a loft conversion which also doubles as the made-up model repository! - I also house my stash, guitars & some books/reference material but it's getting full.
What do you do with those made-up kits that are ready for disposal?

That table idea is the easiest thing to if you have a build that big
I did the same with my 1:35 Leopold last year , i just went to that famous Swedish company and bought a cheap coffee table for about €20
That worked out good

I am doing my mum a favour as she wanted the dining room clear of the computer now my father has a new job and is not self employed now so the table will be utalised for something other than the computer.

When I come to do the 1:24 and 1:32 aircraft who knows where I will be going with those that is one of those annoyances of being a fan of bigger kits when doing models
