Pet Hate

Post by kruno59 »

Guys,

Nothing to do with animals - I love my cat, maxy baby!

CA glue, CA glue, CA glue. It's brittle and horrible to work with when using PE or for for gluing plastic.

Someone must be able to formulate a better option for our hobby.

What's yours, other than the wife lol :D

Once I switched to using Bob Smoth Industries Thick CA glue I never had a complaint about the stuff again.
I used to use that thin runny crapp for everything... No more, not for years.

" + 1 " for Bob Smith Industries Thick CA glue............just recently switched to it and started using it, and the other stuff went straight in the "can".
I especially like the "rubberized" with the pink cap -- GREAT :)

Ok I get it, was ready to chase you with a bat if you were hating on animals
My pet peeve is the dropsies...you know, the part is in your fingers or tweezers or clamp and then zingo in come the dropsy gremlins and you are on your hands and knees under the desk again.
I think those gremlins are in cahoots with the carpet monster

Yeah............."Pet Peeve", etc. might have been a better title for the thread. I was put off at first until I read it through.

My pet-hate is when you have the part in your tweezers ready for placement & you look around for the glue & when you look back at your tweezers.....THE PART HAS GONE!

GRRRRR! - I hate that!

Sorry guys, I couldn't resist this:

As seen in a dog's diary:

8am - Oh Boy! Dog food! My favorite!
9am - Oh Boy! A car ride! My favorite
10am - Oh Boy! A walk! My favorite!
11am - Oh Boy! A car ride! My favorite!
Noon - Oh Boy! The kids! My favorite!
1pm - Oh Boy! The yard! My favorite!
3pm - Oh Boy! The kids! My favorite!
4pm - Oh Boy! Dog food! My favorite!
5pm - Oh Boy! Mom! My favorite!
7pm - Oh Boy! Playing ball! My favorite!
9pm - Oh Boy! Sleeping in master's bed! My favorite!

As seen in a cat's diary:

Day 183 of my captivity:
My captors continue to taunt me with bizarre little dangling objects.
They dine lavishly on fresh meat, while I am forced to eat dry cereal.
The only thing that keeps me going is the hope of escape, and the mild
satisfaction I get from ruining the occasional piece of furniture.
Tomorrow I may eat another house plant.

Day 184 of my captivity:
Today my attempt to kill my captors by weaving around their feet while
they were walking almost succeeded -- must try this at the top of the
stairs. In an attempt to disgust and repulse these vile oppressors, I
once again induced myself to vomit on their favorite chair -- must try this
on their bed.

Day 185 of my captivity:
Decapitated a mouse and brought them the headless body, in an attempt to
make them aware of what I am capable of, and to try to strike fear into
their hearts. They only cooed and condescended about what a good little cat
I was. Hmmm, not working according to plan.

Day 186 of my captivity:
There was some sort of gathering of their accomplices. I was placed in
solitary throughout the event. However, I could hear the noise and smell
the food. More importantly I overheard that my confinement was due to MY
power of "allergies." Must learn what this is and how to use it to my
advantage.

Day 187 of my captivity:
I am convinced the other captives are flunkies! and maybe snitches. The
dog is routinely released and seems more than happy to return. He is
obviously a half-wit. The bird on the other hand has got to be an
informant, and speaks with them regularly. I am certain he reports my
every move. Due to his current placement in the metal room, his safety
is assured. But I can wait, it is only a matter of time...

I like the thick ca glue also, i just use the "no name" brand, dont throw out the thin stuff though, its useful for when you slice your finger open, you can super glue it so you dont bleed all over your model! way better than a band aid

What's worse than a cut? Have you never suffered a paper cut, the worst pain known to man?

I've just thought of a worse pain, stumbling to the bathroom in a 'relaxed' state in the dark and stubbing your toe on a doorframe. That sobers you up pretty quick.

Or treading on an upturned three pin plug.

Why are feet so stupidly sensitive? You would think something you walk around on and kick footballs with would be hard as nails.
Regards, Dave.

Its because we wear socks and shoes all day. Go barefoot for a year and the soles of your feet will be like the front armour on a Tiger!

Its been tried and tested, it works! So don't blame the system if you're no good.

Papercuts, pah, stepping on a plug or lego pish, worst pain I've known was when i managed to end any hope of a football career by simultaneously fracture dislocating my right ankle and snapping my achilles tendon, let me tell you guys, that fing hurt.
Modelling wise my pet hates are bits that just dont fit and instructions that are supremely vague.
John, whats on my bench? Usually a mess and a couple of different models a week.

Headlights and jacks on German vehicles. Dunno what it is but the build usually starts to go wrong from that point on!

I've done that, but the more sweet pain in my book (AND only done once thank you!) is stepping on a 3/4 inch D4 at 3AM on the way to relieve myself.   Got it in the meaty bit under the arch. (It is sort of related to the Carpet Monster, but with AD&D gamers.)

Fuselage halves. That little gap you get between them despite the perfect dry fits... Did you know that's actually a tiny mouth waiting to sip your tears??
