Greetings,

Just popping on to say hello. I found this board through Paul's 109 YouTube video and am looking forward to getting to know the folks here.

My model building history:

I haven't seriously built a kit in over 15 years (aside from the one-off, ham-fisted, and just for laughs endeavor), and never with an airbrush. My father used to paint up brass HO scale engines and was very, very good at it. By the time I was 10 I couldn't get enough of old planes from the 1930s and 40s, specifically the B-17, Spitfire, and P-51. He taught me some basics for model building and off I went. I also had a fondness for Japanese animation of the day, so Star Blazers (Space Battleship Yamato), Robotech (Macross), and Gundam found their way onto my shelf. Soon girls and such happened, so my hobby days fell into memory.

Over the years I've built up kits I intended to build but never did, and now that I'm older and understand the power of free time I'm ready to jump back in. And I mean jump; I'm gearing up to buy my first airbrush and take down the stack of boxes collecting dust on my self. Sadly, there is no passing of the airbrush my father used to me, that has long since vanished, so I will be starting completely from scratch. I hope to document my progress with you all so I can learn from you as well as from my mistakes.

I live in the Seattle area, which for non-'Muricans is the upper leftmost bit of the map in Washington State. Until the next time I get a few moments to myself (toddler and newborn live here as well, and though I love them to bits, they are very time-intensive)...
