What a Christmas present !!

Post by burnie43 »

Happy Christmas everyone....

I'm not normally into sharing certain things .....but on this occasion and on this forum I really want to share this as I feel that you Guys have given me so much .......
The story ( very short version !!)
So I was told last March that I probably would not see Christmas this year ( I just turned 50 in May so I'm still a chicken from spring me thinks !!?)
I opted for a very aggressive course of Chemo which badly affected my hands and eyes to the extent that I couldn't model ( among other things !!) I had to stop the treatment half way through the course ........... and wait !! ( ***** that said I )
No no no no no...... I wait for nothing..., way toooo many kits to build !!
I went to the USA and rode a Harley for a week, came back and bought some more models to add to my stash, then, back to America for a 3 week trip round the Southern States , bought some more model kits ( stash getting bigger ! )
Started trying to build again........getting there now but having to change my methods a bit !
Anyway ......"
On Christmas Eve I got a call from the hospital ( which wasn't due until Mid January )...the news was great,it looks like this clock is gonna keep on ticking for a wee while yet...."see you in 6 months" they said..... I plan ( always have mind you ) on being here for the next Christmas and to continue trying to work my way through my kits...... whilst buying more.....
And a complete revamp of my man cave......thanks to you lot !!!
now my point is......
What a FANTASTIC feeling when I told my family and friends, my wee Mum just seeing her face, knowing that I would continue to watch my Boy growing up etc.....!!!
As this forum has kept me busy when I couldn't get outa bed etc I really felt the need to share this news with you and to thank you all !!!!!!!!!!!! :cheers2: :cheers2: :cheers2: :cheers2: :cheers2: :cheers2: :cheers2: :cheers2:

Keep up the great work and have a Merry Christmas
Mark
now lets get those gifts open ...there might be a kit or 2 in there !!

Many many moons ago my grandfather passed away, but before he did he taught me to live every day like it was my last and to drive every car like I stole it.
Do not let it slip you by is what he meant.
Sounds like you're doing exactly the same thing. Living every moment you can. Whether it's your last or you have a million more.
Good on you bud! I'm glad to hear the news.
