Glosscoated. Really ?

Post by GuyMac »

I glosscoated my Spit yesterday and left it to dry for a day.
Made small layers after layer and it looked even.
Today it doesn't look that even but more like semi-gloss so I was wondering:

Is it the varnish I've used Revell Aqua Clear Gloss as that was the only one I could get my hands on on short notice. Already looking for a good alternative coat (suggestions greatly appreciated).

See for yourself. In my opinion it doesn't look OK, but I'm a noob :-)
Too high pressure in Airbush ? (10-15 psi)

Please do comment so I can learn from this. Maybe it is OK. But as it looks now, I won't be able to get rid of the wash when applied I'm afraid.

It'll still work fine though buddy and will look great once matt coated.

Remember gloss coats don't come out like glass, to get that type of finish it really needs some polishing work, look at some of the car builds. Your gloss looks fine, to make it glossier (is that even a word) just add more layers. Its more about being a smooth finish as opposed to the type of finish you get from matt paints.
