AK Metal and Brush Cleaning

Post by JudgeDredd »

Hi all

I have started using some of the AK Extreme Metal colours but when I use it, it leaves a dry residue on my brush (cup and needle) that I simply cannot clean off. I've tried Ultimate Cleaner, white spirit and paintbrush cleaner (blue stuff) and the only thing that seems to get the residue off is my nail.

Any ideas on what cleaner is best for these?

Thanks

I use Alclad brush cleaner for anything not acrylic. Like a hot knife through butter. Don't forget Ultimate cleaner is for acrylics.

Yeah. It was my bad. I didn't do research and so didn't realise these were enamel based. It left my airbrush (and mostly the cup in and around) in a rather sorry looking state.

I actually noticed there's a AK Cleaner - so I bought that.

I would've thought, as they were enamel based that white spirit would've done it though, as that's what I used to use on my brushes when I painted with enamels.

Sorted now though (hopefully). Thanks.
